FIND YOUR MACKAY ROOTS

The Clan Mackay USA is running an ongoing project aimed at helping members uncover their Mackay ancestry. This project invites members to submit one or more six-generation pedigree charts, depending on the information they have available. These charts will be included in the Clan Mackay Ancestral master database. 

By inputting genealogical data from members into this database, I can compare the information to identify similarities and common ancestral relationships. Many members of Clan Mackay USA are related to one another without realizing it. Some members have genealogical data that goes back many generations, which has allowed me to trace common ancestry for those who have less information about their family history. 

Additionally, I have conducted further research to uncover more details when possible. If I can provide ancestral information to a member who knows little about their Mackay ancestors, I will have achieved the project’s goal.

The success of this project largely depends on the amount of raw data I can input into the master database, as more data increases the likelihood of discovering shared family history. While I cannot guarantee results, I have been successful in several instances. For example, I was able to trace one member’s lineage back to approximately 1005 AD. 

I kindly ask all current members who have not yet submitted their pedigree charts to do so in order to help make this project a success. Thank you for your participation!
